"Charlie Hustle & the Matter of Pete Rose" will look at Rose's lifetime ban from the MLB, taking "a retrospective journey, spanning more than 60 years, to tell the story of baseball’s all-time hits leader whose on-field achievements and off-field transgressions have made him one of the most polarizing figures in all of sports," Warner Bros. The series will air in four parts, with the first two installments coming to HBO on Wednesday, July 24, between 9-11 p.m. and the following two airing Thursday, July 25, from 9-11 p.m. All episodes will be available to stream on Max on July 24.

The MLB banned Rose for life in 1989 for betting on baseball games. He retired as the league's all-time hit king with 4,256 and earned 17 All-Star selections throughout his career. Rose was the 1973 NL MVP and won three World Series, two with the Reds and one with the Philadelphia Phillies.
